Full Body MRI Services Offered in Easley
LivingWell Integrative Healthcare is now offering access to full-body MRI scans through a collaboration with American Health Imaging in downtown Greenville, expanding access to advanced imaging for clients seeking preventive wellness screenings.
Cheryl Middleton, PA-C and co-founder of LivingWell Integrative Healthcare, says the goal of offering the service is to give clients a non-invasive way to look inside the body without radiation exposure. The scans are designed to help identify potential signs of cancer and other abnormalities earlier, while improving the overall patient experience.
LivingWell is one of just a few practices in the area collaborating with American Health Imaging to provide access to the scans. While the MRI is performed and interpreted by imaging specialists at the Greenville facility, LivingWell coordinates the service and reviews the results with clients as part of their ongoing care.
“We are always looking to enhance our clients’ experience here at LivingWell,” Middleton said.
Additionally, in celebration of LivingWell’s 20th anniversary, they’re offering $20 off a first visit, along with $20 off a thermogram session. Clients can mention “Cheers20” or that they saw the special in Healthy Town USA when calling to schedule an appointment to receive the discount.
LivingWell Integrative Healthcare is located at 838 Powdersville Rd. in Easley. For more information, or to get your $20 or $40 off, call: 864-850-9988 or visit: LivingWellHealthcare.com.
CORRECTION: Summer 2026
In our Healthy Living in Easley article on page 18 & 19, we incorrectly identified the ownership and management of the Old Post 1940 Coffee Shop. The shop is owned by Daphne and Troy Rosier, and their daughter, Aislinn Degrange, serves as the manager.
We regret the error and appreciate the opportunity to correct the record.
Welcome to Healthy Town USA
Welcome to our Summer Issue—and a big milestone moment for us! This marks the 3-year anniversary of our publication, and with it comes an exciting new chapter: we’re rebranding from Locally Grown Magazine to Healthy Town USA.
Our new name reflects who we are today—Your Local Guide to Longevity & Wellness. We believe “Healthy” belongs front and center, especially now as more people are taking charge of their well-being and seeking ways to live longer, stronger, and with greater joy. We hope you love the new logo and fresh energy as much as we do!
This issue is packed with seasonal support—from Cool Workouts on page 12 by Victoria Cochran of the Danita Clinic to Stronger Together: 5 Heart-Healthy Habits on page 18 by Dr. Dimple Joshi of Holistically Healthy. If you’re hungry for healthy eats, check out page 20, where local health coach Elizabeth Adams from Mountain Herb Wellness dishes on downtown Greenville’s nutritious gems.
Don’t miss our Fireworks Calendar on page 31—many shows are on July 3rd this year (good news for dogs who dislike the booms!).
Wishing you a vibrant and beautiful summer,
Lindy
Welcome from the Publisher
We are excited to announce that the highly anticipated Get Off The Grid Fest is coming to the Upstate, and you can find all the details on page 10 of this issue. This festival is not only a celebration of music and healthy living, but also a sustainable living event that focuses on eco-friendly practices and off-grid living. We encourage you to come out and experience the festival’s unique blend of entertainment and education.
As we move into the summer season, it’s essential to stay energetic and beat the heat. On page 13, we have an article by Leila Scogin from Joi Center on tips to stay energized and refreshed during the hot summer months. With her expert advice, you’ll be ready to tackle any summer challenge that comes your way.
For those looking for something yummy and healthy, we have a mouthwatering Summer Berries and Cream recipe on page 29. It’s the perfect way to cool down and satisfy your sweet tooth while enjoying the bounty of fresh berries that are in season.
We also want to highlight our Locally Grown advertisers, who play a vital role in supporting our community. Please show your support for these businesses that are committed to healthy living.
Finally, let’s all enjoy the bright and beautiful days of summer. We hope this issue inspires you to make the most of this vibrant season.

In Tai Chi and Qi Gong classes, I learned that spring is the time for the liver to be cleansed and supported. Helpful tips from Leila Scogin of Joi Natural Wellness on page 12 and Atir Sveska-Sharpe from Pure Wellness on page 15 will help you on your detoxification journey this spring.
Infusion and hydration therapy have been coming to the forefront in the past few years, and our therapy spotlight, on page 16, will tell you all about “A New Way to Take Your Vitamins” from Hydrate Health.
Since all we do is talk about health around here, I thought it would be fun to start the spring season off with the “Healthy is the New Wealthy Expo”. Vendors, businesses, practitioners, and experts in the field of natural health and wellness will be on hand to chat about living a healthy lifestyle. There will be six half-hour presentations on the 1/2 hour, starting at 10:30am on the main central stage. Free admission, parking, and tote bag to the first 250 attendees. See our ad on the inside front cover for more information.
A reminder to support our advertisers who make Locally Grown come to life. Without them, it would just be a front and back cover. They fill the pages with local, educational, supportive, and cutting-edge information every quarter. We are blessed to live in such a bountiful area on so many levels!
Happy Spring!
Warm Ups Before You Go Outside
“Winter is coming!” As the colder weather approaches, it is more important now than any other time of the year to WARM UP your muscles and joints before any type of activity. Following are a few quick full body movements that take no more than 4 minutes to loosen up your joints and warm up your muscles.
Note: These movements are meant to be done in a controlled manner over a 2-4 second count per repetition. Do NOT push past the point of comfortable range of motion into pain.
Spinal Hygiene: Start seated. Tuck your chin and then look down as far as you can. Then, leading with your eyes, look up. Repeat 10 times. Then turn your head to the left as far as you can; then to the right. Repeat 10 times. Then bring your left ear towards your left shoulder as far as you can. Then Right ear to right shoulder. Repeat 10 times.
Stand up. Look down, roll your shoulders forward, and bend down to touch your toes with a slight knee bend. Then look up, roll your shoulders back, and extend your back to standing. Repeat 5 times. Next, give yourself a nice big hug, and turn your torso to the left. Then turn to the right. Repeat 10 times. Then bring your hands to your side and bend to the left, then bend to the right. Repeat 10 times.
Now you’re ready to take on the world! Enjoy, be safe, and be merry! – Dr. Ian Barwick, Our Patch Family Chiropractic
Show Those Kidneys Some Love
When your skin is itchy in the dry winter months, you might consider giving a little love to your kidneys. That’s right, itchy skin, especially on your back and arms, can be a sign of a deeper issue. Stay hydrated and eat blueberries, strawberries and raspberries because they provide antioxidants to help protect them.
To support your kidneys, mix 2-3 drops each of Copaiba, Grapefruit, and Juniper essential oils with a few drops of carrier oil (almond, avocado, etc.) and rub it on the bottom of your feet before bed. – Sandy Teska from Essentially Sandy

Our winter issue was so much fun to spruce up for the holiday season, with color options and little special touches like our Christmas tree recycling tips on page 23, and our Locally Grown advertisers’ favorite holiday traditions in the Upstate on page 31. The “Healthy Tips to Glide Through Winter” section on page 14 and 15, has some great kidney support suggestions, and I tried those cold weather stretches out from Dr. Ian; I found I was more flexible and it positively enhanced my mood afterwards.
With the many stressors that encompass the winter months, (including the holidays) remind yourself how to be simply joyful on page 20, and also more romantic on page 21, so your New Year will be off to a fantastic start!
